It isn't at all difficult, Janet -- or I wouldn't have been doing it all these years! It's a matter of putting some vinegar into a cup of warm water, adding quite a few drops of food colouring, then placing hardboiled eggs into the dye bath. We've swirled ours up a bit by using Crayolas to write names and make designs on the eggs. It's a bit like batik, in that the dye doesn't go where the wax is -- especially fun if you use a clear or a white crayon.

I've always wondered how hard this might be and have never dared to try it.
